Delivery Procedure of the Medicines under Dhanwantari Scheme

There are certain rules of delivery of medicines through this scheme. Medicine through this scheme will be arranged in the following time period as per their availability - 
  • If the medicine is available within the district, then it will be delivered within 24 hours of placing the order. 
  • If the medicine is available within regional headquarters like Guwahati or Dibrugarh then it will be delivered within two days that is 48 hours. 
  • And, If the medicine is available out of Assam only, then it will be delivered within 7 days of placing an order under the Assam Medicine Home Delivery Scheme.

How Dhanwantari Medicine Delivery Scheme Implemented 

On Friday, 24th April 2020 Assam Govt successfully launched the Dhanwantri Medicine Delivery Scheme. Under the plan, Assam Govt received 260 calls under 4 hours of its launch. According to Assam Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, 42 demands out of these calls have just been tended to and prescriptions have been conveyed to the patients on the main day itself. This scheme will surely create a history in the time of Lockdown. Also, on 28th April 2020, Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted that Out of 4686 total calls received till that day  1646 home deliveries of medicines have been done successfully.

To get Medicine at your doorsteps during this lockdown, one will have to follow the simple procedure given below-
  • Any Citizen of Assam can call on 104. 
  • You will get a message after calling on 104 where you will get an online application link.
  • Or you can also visit the link given here. ( But it is recommended to call on 104 first)
  • Now enter the following details on the form
  1. Name of Patient

  3. Home Address 
  4. Landmark 
  5. Village/City Town Name 
  6. Pincode Reason for availing the service

  • Check all the details and click on the submit button after verifying all the details.
  • After that, send your medicine prescription to the given WhatsApp number of your respective district.
  • After that take rest and sit back. Your medicine will be delivered by ASHA workers and Multi-Purpose Workers (MPs) of your area.
